Swings in the 1966 General Election

Abstract

The 1966 General Election saw a marked increase in the Social Credit vote and in the number of abstentions at the expense of both main parties. These sharp changes prompted the use of multiple regression techniques in an attempt to measure the magnitude and constancy of voting swings.
