Inhibition of Corrosion of Mild Steel in Hydrochloric Acid at Higher Temperatures by Amidopolyamines

Pages 187-189 | Published online: 20 Nov 2013

Abstract

This paper deals with some specific properties of amidopolyamines, closely related to polyamides, which have been used as curing agents for epoxy resins. A series of compounds has been prepared and their general properties described. Only two properties have been examined in detail, namely, those of inhibit(on of corrosion and adsorption. These properties are compared with those of known polyamides. The amidopolyamines show better inhibitive and adsorption properties than polyamides. The inhibitive mechanism has been interpreted on the basis of Mann's theory of adsorption of inhibitors.
