New publisher for The Linacre Quarterly

By now you have noticed that this issue of The Linacre Quarterly is different than prior issues. The size and the cover have changed; and, if you look closely at the cover, you will see two logos: the Catholic Medical Association logo and the Maney Publishing logo. We are pleased to announce that we have a new publisher for the Linacre – Maney Publishing.

Maney Publishing is an independent publishing company specializing in academic journals in health science, the humanities, materials science, and engineering. Their commitment to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed, international journals in print and electronic formats makes them a perfect fit for the Linacre. Based in the United Kingdom, where Thomas Linacre founded the Royal College of Physicians, they also have an office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, close to the CMA's headquarters. Maney publishes extensively for learned societies, universities, and professional bodies around the world. We welcome their expertise and commitment to excellence.

In addition to the changes in the cover and size of the Linacre, you will soon notice a series of other improvements. Most obvious is the print format of the journal. The larger page size and format is meant to make the Linacre easier to read and more consistent with the format of other mainstream journals. Also, Maney will manage and improve the online presence of the Linacre, including for issues going back to 2005, and will provide electronic tools to facilitate the Linacre's article submission and review process. However, we will continue to use two peer reviewers for every article to maintain our high standards for content. Finally, Maney will assume responsibility for all aspects of production and distribution of the Linacre, freeing up Louise Mitchell to move to the position of Associate Editor. We are thrilled Louise will continue to help with the journal.

Most importantly, we believe that Maney's expertise and international presence will help us to better promote the Linacre and to win new audiences, both in the United States and around the world. We hope to expand our readership and the influence of the Catholic medical-moral tradition in the fields of medicine and ethics with their help.

Maney's commitment to technical and editorial innovation, combined with their well-deserved reputation for high quality and collaboration, should greatly enhance the quality of the Linacre across the board. We welcome this new relationship and look forward to collaborating with Maney in further improving the quality of our journal.
