Abstract
Powder metallurgy offers exciting opportunities for product development. It enables components to be manufactured close to their final dimensions, thus minimising the costs of both materials and the final machining processes. However, for significant savings in cost and time to be made, it is important that part designers have access to PM knowledge bases and computerised design tools that are as advanced as those for other processes.
