Abstract
This paper investigates the application of Ni-P-ZrO2-Al2O3-Al3Zr (Ni-P-X) electroless coatings on three different substrate materials: commercial aluminium; low carbon steel and carbon fabric, by in situ co-precipitation of Al2O3 and ZrO2 and by co-deposition with Al3Zr. The Ni-P-X coatings have been studied in terms of composition and tribological behaviour. Application of Ni-P-X coatings on carbon fabric and their effect on UTS has also been explained.
