Abstract
The government has committed to reducing the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% by 2050, and with road transport accounting for a fifth of total UK emissions currently, the automotive industry has a central role to play. Despite huge strides forward, the development of low-carbon vehicle technologies is still hindered by a gap between the technology developers and the requirements of vehicle manufacturers for ‘proving volume’ supply.
