Abstract
Many specimens of varying dimensions were made from one original sheet and their internal friction curves and Snoek peaks investigated and compared with those of iron wire specimens and their theoretical curves. Results show that Q-lmax . and internal friction curves change for different sheet dimensions and are also different from those for wire specimens. The geometrical effects of sheet specimens on the internalfrictionpeaks are discussed. The relationship between the total carbon content and the damping capacity Q-lmax . in a low-metalloid rimmed sheet steel was investigated.
