A description is given of a method of calculating the flow during steady-state roundbar extrusion, including the effect of temperature non-uniformities. A comparison between computed and experimental results is used to demonstrate the validity of the method, which is then used to predict how the flow can be influenced by the radial temperature profile in the billet.
