Abstract
The more interesting mosses gathered in the course of five visits to the Caucasian region and eastern Turkey are enumerated. Didymodon cordatus var. schisticolus is described and illustrated together with scanning electron microscope details of the cells of this and typical D. cordatus, epicuticular wax being demonstrated in quantity on the leaves of both. Notes are given on sterile Ceratodon conicus (Hampe ex Müll. Hal.) Lindb. and reasons given for excluding Didymodon afer (Müll. Hal.) Broth. from the Turkish moss flora.
