Effect of luminophores on silver halide emulsions

Abstract

The results of computer modelling of fluorescence, scattering and absorption of actinic light inside the system containing AgHal crystals and fluorescent agent are presented. Calculations were performed by means of the Monte Carlo method. The present work also covers experimental investigations into the influence of fluorescent substances on the sensitometric properties of silver halide light-sensitive layers and the influence of two colloids on the efficiency of fluorescence. The qualitative dependence of the effective light absorption on the system parameters indicates that, under some circumstances, the addition of a fluorescent substance can improve the sensitometric properties of a AgHal light-sensitive system.
