Abstract
In order to substitute the traditional electroplate which caused electricity wastage and contamination, the TiO2 film/C (diamond) were prepared by the sol–gel method. The micrograph, structure and properties of TiO2 film/C were studied using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Fourier-Raman and thermogravimetry–differential scanning calorimetry. The results showed that the oxidation temperature of the coated TiO2 diamond in the air was 650°C, which is higher 150°C than that of the uncoated diamond. For the coated TiO2 diamond vitrified bond grinding wheel, compared with the uncoated diamond vitrified bond grinding wheel, the hardness was increased 13% and the grinding ratio to the carbide (WC–6 wt-%Co) was also increased 220%.
