Abstract

An improved method of derotating upper molars is described which utilizes a modified palatal arch. Its principal advantages are threefold: No wires are visible from the front of the mouth; the great flexibility of the arch minimizes the adjustments (and thus patient visits) necessary to maintain an ideal rotating force; and torque may be applied to the molars if required. Clinical experience has shown the arch to be well tolerated and very robust.
