Abstract
A lip shield is described for use by wind instrument players undergoing multiband orthodontic treatment.
The value to the wind instrumentalist of freedom from malocclusion or dental irregularities is discussed. There would seem to be a real conflict between the need for practice and the desirability of orthodontic treatment for these patients.
