Dynamic Modelling and Estimation of Mineral Flotation Circuit Performance

Abstract

A sixth-order dynamic model of a rougher-scavenger circuit is described. The model reduces to conventional form in the steady-state. Kalman filtering is used to estimate the circuit state in the presence of process disturbances and measurement noise. Simulation indicates that grade and recovery estimates obtained using filtered variables are a significant improvement over those obtained using direct steady-state analysis of the process measurements.

Résumé

Un modèle dynamique du sixième ordre d'un circuit de fiottation de dégrossissage-épuisage est decrit. A l'etat stable le modèle se réduit à la forme conventionnelle. Le filtrage Kalman est utilisé pour estimer l'état du circuit en présence de variation du procédé et de bruit dans la mesure. La simulation indique que les estimations de la teneur et de la récupération obtenues en utilisant des variables filtrées constituent une amélioration significative par rapport a celle qui sont obtenues en utilisant une analyse directe des mesures du procédé à l'état stable.
