Solubility of Calcium–Magnesium–Bismuth Intermetallic in Molten Lead

Pages 275-276 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

The solubility product for the calcium-magnesium-bismuth intermetallic (CaMg2Bi2) forming in molten lead bullion during load debismuthization is measured as a function of bullion temperature and correlated against inverse temperature as follows:

log10 ((Ca)Pb(Mg)pb2(Bi)pb2) = 12.007 – 11,437/T

where the concentrations are expressed as weight percentages.
