An Experimental Study of The Sulphide Capacities in the System Al2O3−CaO−SiO2

Abstract

Measurements of the sulphide capacities in the Al2O3−CaO−SiO2 system were carried out at 1773,1873,1848 and 1923K using a gas-slag equilibration technique. The experimental results along with the literature data were employed to optimize the parameters of the sulphide capacity model developed at the Division of Theoretical Metallurgy. A complete description of the Cs in the Al2O3−CaO−SiO2 system was obtained. The calculated results were found to be in good agreement with the experimental data. Comparisons of the experimental Cs values with the calculated results using the optical basicity approaches were also made. © 1997 Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Résumé

On a exécuté des mesures de capacité de sulfare, à 1773, 1873, 1848 et 1923K du système Al2O3−CaO−SiO2, en utilisant une technique d'équilibration de gaz–laitier. On a utilisé les résultats expérimentaux ainsi que les données de la littérature pour optimiser les paramètres du modèle de capacite de sulfure développé a la Division de Métallurgie Théoretique. On a obtenu une description compléte du Cs du systéme Al2O3−CaO−SiO2. On a trouvé que les résultats calcules étaient en accord avec les données expérimentales. On a aussi fait des comparaisons entre les valeurs expérimentales de C s et les résultants calculés en utilisant des approches de basicité optique.
