A Light Resistant, Permanent Eosin Counterstain For Hematoxylin

Abstract

Many eosin dyes now sold stain cytoplasm in varying shades, often masking the tissue components under study. We use an eosin Y solution as a counterstain for consistent, permanent contrast among tissue components, even in the presence of light.
