Aminoalkylsilane: An Inexpensive, Simple Preparation for Slide Adhesion

Pages 123-124 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

Glass microscope slides treated with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (AAS) provide superior tissue adhesion of paraffin and frozen section material and less background reaction than white glue, albumen, chrome-gelatin, or poly-L-lysine coated slides. These slides are easy and inexpensive to prepare (The J Histotechnol 12:123, 1989).
