Abstract
A double-bladed scalpel for cutting tissue sections of uniform thickness is described. A scalpel handle was modified to permit the insertion of adjacent parallel blades separated by a 3 mm gap. This instrument enhances the ability to cut tissue sections of a constant thickness before the samples are submitted for embedding. (The J Histotechnol 16:363, 1993)
