The Next Generation of Histologists

Abstract

There is currently a shortage of laboratory professionals, particularly in the area of histology. With retirement for many histologists looming, it is important to recruit the next generation of histologists as well as retain our current histologic workforce. By identifying causes, reasons, and possible solutions to this shortage, we can start to solve this issue and at the same time, limit negative effects to patient health care and look toward the future of histology.
