The dubious origin of Glyphomitrium canadense Mitt.

Pages 165-168 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

Glyphomitrium canadense, known only from the type collection, is a synonym of G. daviesii and almost certainly British rather than North American in origin. Because of several morphological features of importance, the genus cannot be included in the Erpodiaceae, as recently suggested, and is therefore retained in the Ptychomitriaceae.
