Evolution and speciation in Pellia, with special reference to the Pellia megaspora-endiviifolia complex (Metzgeriales), III. Chromosome length

Pages 441-446 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

Studies of the relative and absolute lengths of mitotic chromosomes show that Pellia endiviifolia is cytologically distinct from the species P. megaspora, P. epiphylla and P. neesiana. This supports the recognition, on morphological grounds, of P. megaspora as a species distinct from P. endiviifolia.
