Polymorphisms in the thallus morphogenesis of Sphaerocarpos donnellii Aust. as a result of different substrate combinations

Abstract

Sphaerocarpos donnellii Aust. develops a substrate-specific morphology when grown under sterile conditions on the same medium for a period of 10 months. Media containing monosaccharides gave an increase in total chlorophyll content, and increase in growth rates of 35-50% and increased the production of sexual organs.
