Abstract

A wave-like laminate protonemal colony of the moss S. cataractae together with a colony of shoots was discovered in a copper-rich environment at the Tsukuba shrine, Japan. The concentration of eu in the protonemata and shoots attained a level as high as 1–2%, indicating a degree of copper tolerance by the protonemata and shoots.
