Abstract

The surface patterning of the cell walls of specimens of Lophocolea bidentata (L.) Dum. and L. cuspidata (Ness) Limpr. was studied with the scanning electron microscope. No evidence was found for a mosaic patterning of the wall surface, previously thought to be diagnostic for L. cuspidata.
