Pages 371-388 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

Three species of Anastrophyllum are shown to occur in temperate Australasia. Anastrophyllum papillosum J. J. Engel & Braggins sp. nov. is described from New Zealand; the species differs from A. novazelandiae R. M. Schust. by characters that include branching, leaf cuticle, size of basal leaf cells and oil-bodies. Anastrophyllum schismoides (Mont.) Steph. is subdivided into two varieties, var. schismoides and var. crassulum J. J. Engel, var, nov. Descriptions and a key to these species are provided. An overview of the austral species of Anastrophyllum is included.
