Abstract

A sample of 925 Christian adults attending workshops on personality and spirituality completed the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) together with a question concerning influence by the charismatic movement. Type tables are constructed to compare charismatics with non-charismatics. The data demonstrate that, compared with the non-charismatics, the charismatic sample contains significantly higher proportions of extraverts, thinkers, and perceivers. Compared with the non-charismatic sample there is a significantly higher proportion of dominant thinkers among the charismatic sample. Among the charismatics there is a significant over-representation of ESTJ and a significant under-representation of ISFJ.
