Cavity Growth by Grain-Boundary Sliding during Creep of Copper

Pages 186-187 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

The recent results of Davies and Williams apparently confirm the suggestion made earlier that at high creep rates cavity nuclei grow by grain-boundary sliding. At lower creep rates, however, growth may occur by a combination of grain-boundary sliding and vacancy condensation.
