Abstract
The coarsening of pure iron–carbon, iron–carbon–nickel, and iron–carbon–cobalt alloys has been investigated at 601, 651, and 710° C. Quantitative metallographic data on recrystallized cementite–ferrite are presented as particle-size distributions and coarsening rates. The application of the Lifshitz–Wagner theory to the ferrite–cementite system is discussed and the results are compared with work on other systems.
