Pages 753-759 | Published online: 18 Jul 2013

Abstract

Some aspects of the research into hot isostatic pressing currently being undertaken at Cranfield are reviewed. The advantages of this process as applied to a wide range of materials, including metals, ceramics, polymers, and their composites, and the potential development of novel materials by combining the technique with other processes, particularly surface engineering, are discussed.
