Abstract
Owing to the widespread use of porous materials, both metallic and non-metallic, in industry, a need has arisen for analytical methods of predicting various physical properties of porous bodies from the known values of these properties for the corresponding bulk materials. The theory of the relationship between the degree of porosity of porous bodies and some of their properties is discussed.
