FABRICATION AND PROPERTIES OF SOME DISPERSION-STRENGTHENED COPPER-GLASS ALLOYS

Abstract

The fabrication of dispersion-strengthened copper-glass alloys is described and the effect of Cu2O and Ti as adherence promoters evaluated. An unusual particle size effect has been observed, and a particle/void interaction model is proposed to account for this behaviour.
