Abstract
A review is made of the state of the North American PM structural parts industry, the problems and possible solutions, the technical advancements, and the opportunities for the future. Although the observations and conclusions are based on the current status of the US PM industry, they are also relevant for other countries and therefore identify worldwide challenges. PM/0249
