Abstract
The determination of particle size distribution is a probabilistic process which produces practical and theoretical problems, depending as it does on shape, size range, and operating conditions. The author's Group produces metal powders of many different compositions, size ranges, and shapes. From initial hand sieving, several methods of measurement, mechanical, air jet, sedimentation, and counter based, have been developed. Thousands of results are stored in the companies' files. This paper does not attempt a systematic examination of these results, but rather deals with some difficult cases that have been encountered in practice. PM/0385
