Influence of Powders on Final Properties and Microstructure of Sintered Molybdenum Steels

Pages 53-56 | Published online: 19 Jul 2013

Abstract

The present study determines and compares the physical and mechanical properties of sintered 1·5 wt-%Mo steels as a function of the carbon content, the type of raw material (prealloyed powder or elemental powder mixture), and the heat treatment used after sintering. The steels were mixed and pressed under the same conditions and the sintering conditions approximated to those normally used in the industry. PM/0620
