Abstract
Combining an aluminium matrix composite disc with a powder sprayed ceramic outer layer has enabled Metal Composite Technology (MCT) to develop lightweight motorcycle brake assemblies that provide high performance and improved handling. The concept has potential for commercial scale production for both four and two wheel vehicles.
