Development of high alloyed tool steels using spray forming on an industrial scale

Pages 297-298 | Published online: 19 Jul 2013

Abstract

Spray forming offers an ideal route for the production of high alloyed steels, permitting microstructural and compositional control not possible with competing processes. Dan Spray's development of the Osprey process has achieved industrial scale processing of tool steel semi-products for severe abrasive applications.
