Abstract
Clinical education is an important component of the curriculum of study of the undergraduate student of physiotherapy and other professions supplementary to medicine. However, in the present climate of delivery of health care in the UK, there is considerable debate regarding the costs of the provision of clinical workplace education. This paper reviews available literature regarding cost analysis and urges those involved in the provision of fieldwork experience to reflect upon this practice following structured audit in order to provide objective evidence of costs as opposed to personal observations.
