Abstract

Donaghy and Gosling have written a paper that articulates many interesting issues with respect to the specialization process in physiotherapy. I will structure this response around three topics that are particularly interesting to me: tension between generalist and specialist practitioners, differentiation of specialists from experts, and the formal specialization process.
