Abstract
The implementation of the compliance assurance system in France evolved in recent years in the two following main fields, design and inspection. The experience feedback to applicants about the difficulties raised during the examination by IPSN of the design performances of packages led to the elimination of some of the older designs. The implementation by the new competent authority, the DSIN, of a systematic approach for the inspection of operator activities involving transport, revealed numerous instances of non-compliance such as external contamination of spent fuel convoys. The necessary corrective actions could be decided and carried out.
