Summary
Eight patients suffering from familial Type II hyperlipoproteinaemia were treated with clofibrate for a period of 12 weeks and this was followed by combined therapy with clofibrate and neomycin for a further period of 12 weeks. It was found that neomycin, though free from major side-effects, failed to augment the hypocholesterolaemic action of clofibrate.
