Section 3 Ibuprofen (‘rufen’) in the treatment of catarrhal and respiratory viral diseases with rheumatismal manifestations

Summary

One hundred and eighteen patients were treated with 800 trig, to 1200 mg. ibuprofen daily for periods up to 6 weeks during influenza epidemics. Forty-one patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 47 with arthroses responded well both regarding joint symptoms and their general condition, and only 6 developed catarrhal and respiratory viral disease. Ten patients with catarrhal rheumatism and 20 with influenza were also treated with good control of their fever and general malaise.
