Summary
Two groups of patients surviving an acute myocardial infarct were followed up for 12 months after discharge from hospital. One group received regular sulphinpyrazone (600 mg/day) and the other did not. Two sulphinpyrazone-treated subjects died suddenly compared to 6 in the control group, whereas non-fatal acute cardiac ischaemic episodes were equally frequent in the two groups.
