Abstract

“I asked for a glass of water and got a hose in the face.” That's how one IT customer explained to his IS manager the latest and greatest e-mail system that their company installed. the system simply overwhelmed users with its myriad of functions. It seems that as computers and software grow more powerful, they are also growing too complex for most IT customers to use. This article is a reminder that using information technology should help people accomplish tasks and not be a task itself.
