Abstract
In the last few years, the Internet has transformed the way organizations compete. While some have realized their potential, several are close to buyouts or failures. Given the recent spate of E-business failures, a pertinent question is: How can organizations survive in the post dot.com meltdown era? For those organizations still competing in an already crowded space, there is a need to understand the factors that will determine their survival in the immediate future. This paper discusses the forces governing the ever-changing competitive landscape in this new economy and identifies several factors in both the business to consumer and the business to business sectors.
