Abstract
Turnover is a silent but significant profit killer. Some managers mistakenly believe that it is inevitable and that nothing can be done to stop it – not true! Turnover can contribute substantially to the costs of operating an IT department and can be a sign that something is seriously wrong. However, the days of the Internet craze promotions and large salary increases are no longer the norm. Turnover is not what it used to be, but most any turnover can hurt the profitability of an organization if even in the short run.
