The Problem of Limiting Y2K Liability

Abstract

Insurers do not intend to provide coverage for possible organizational legal liability for Y2K (Year 2000 Date Problem) lawsuits. Thus, insurance policyholders are only self-insured, generally, against Y2K lawsuits. Existing directors and officers liability policies are not viewed as covering Year 2000 issues. Insurance coverage for such issues will need to be purchased separately.
