Abstract

CMP Group, Inc., is a Maine-based holding company that was established in September 1998. Its principal holding is the Central Maine Power Company (CMP) which is a regulated electric utility. CMP has more than 530,000 customers in an 11,000 square-mile territory in central and southern Maine. Four other CMP Group holdings provide utility support servic-es, engineering and environmental consulting, energy efficien-cy performance contracting, domestic and international consulting for utilities and energy organizations, telecommu-nications services, and accounts receivable management ser-vices. An additional subsidiary holds CMP Group's interest in a joint venture with another out-of-state utility to distribute natural gas.
