Abstract
With the economy slowing down and revenues declining, many software companies are pursuing software piracy violations at an increasing rate. If there are any questions about software compliance, auditors should visit www.bsa.org, the home Web site of the Business Software Alliance (BSA), an organization active in over 65 countries that devotes itself, among other things, to stopping software piracy. (Note: In this article, for ease of use, the term “auditor” applies to both personnel whose primary function is auditing and network administrators charged with auditing software usage and licensing.)
