How Researchers Can Support Community Efforts for Change: Illustrations From Two Case Studies

Abstract

This article makes a case for the developmental and educational researcher to conduct program study evaluations that contribute directly to communities seeking to support and foster child and family development. The article explores the kinds of roles and benefits that can result from evaluative studies. For the purpose of illustration, it presents 2 program studies conducted in a midwestern community.
